All five bears are thriving in the bear refuge in Brasov
The five bears
that were first moved to Brasov have large areas and a new life climbing trees, digging around and playing with good food and care. Ursula, the beautiful fifteen year old blind Tibetan bear was the last bear to leave Buhusi on the 22nd of May, 2008 thanks to a generous donation from Lynn Orchard who has funded a new enclosure for Ursula away from the brown bears. She was given to the zoo when she was no longer useful to a Ukrainian Circus.
She has a special enclosure. She is enjoying her life with earth and grass under her paws, and deep sleeps in her cave like underground enclosure. This astonishing special enclosure is dedicated to disabled, blind and elderly bears that need to be on their own. It was built through a generous donation. We are grateful to WSPA for their remarkable work. You can see photos of our bears at www.thelionsroar.eu or on the WSPA site.
We thank the generous supporters who have made this possible and especially WSPA and Cristina Lapis of Millions of Friends' - who have worked hard to accommodate her at the Brasov Bear Sanctuary.
